Power Pole Restoration Services

Distribution pole restoration

Sundance PPI provides restoration services for both transmission and distribution wood pole structures. Power Pole restoration can extend in-service life of an asset for many years and realize a significant cost savings over pole replacement.

High Quality Products and Services

Restoration is based on utilizing a high quality steel truss, engineered with a full length flange for superior performance on transverse and longitudinal directions.

1. NESC Grade Construction.

2. Full Length Taper and Flange Truss to maintain positive contact below grade and to the pole butt.

3. Two inch, 110,000 psi banding strength.

4. Double Units available.  Capable of reinforcing down to zero inch shell at groundline.

5. Galvanized steel truss per ASTM A-123 specifications.

6. Highest Quality Standards in Material and Installation.

Liability Risk Mitigation

Restoration services may be considered as a cost-effective approach for eliminating or mitigating liability risk associated to in-service power poles.  Wood pole assets benefiting from restoration include:

1. Non-Serviceable (Rejects)–Restoring structural integrity to meet or exceed serviceability standards.

2. Serviceable with Integrity Loss (Monitor) - Mitigating risk of in-service failure and to restore or exceed original serviceability requirements.  Without restoration, pole asset should be monitored until the next inspection cycle through annual, visual line reviews.

Cost Savings

1. Cost Comparison: Average cost savings over pole changeout is generally 50% or more.

2. Return on Investment: Upon request, Sundance PPI will provide an evaluation to determine a total cost savings potential specific to each customer.   Evaluation is provided to assist customers in due diligence and is provided at no cost.   Sundance PPI does not require any commitment for future services.

3. Material Orders: Contingency Material Orders are also available without services for Emergency Response Preparation and future maintenance needs.
